New food truck park serving Ocala Downtown Market

A new food truck park, comprised of a collection of local food truck vendors, has joined together in an effort to serve the Ocala Downtown Market.

The new food truck park celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting event last week hosted by the Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership.

The food truck park will operate Tuesday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch, and will feature a variety of food trucks. Three of the food trucks will be present regularly:

Jimmy’s Philly Cheesesteaks (Tues – Sat, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Tom’s Taste of Chicago (Tues-Thur, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fri-Sat, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

Kona Ice (Tues-Fri, 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Sat, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

On two days of the week, the food truck park will operate alongside the Ocala Downtown Market’s popular farmer’s market. The weekly farmer’s market, which operates on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, will now incorporate an additional mid-week market on Wednesday afternoon, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The new Wednesday Mid-Day Market will feature over 20 vendors offering a wide array of products, including micro-greens, produce, meats, oils, and more.

During the Saturday and Wednesday market days, the food truck park will feature an additional two to four trucks that will sell a variety of foods, including BBQ and Jamaican.

In addition to the Ocala Downtown Market, food trucks have sprouted up during the pandemic all around the city of Ocala.

The Ocala Food Trucks Village, which operates weekly at 2895 South Pine Avenue, showcases a variety of trucks with different flavors along a major thoroughfare.

Late last year, a group of trucks had been scheduled to open regularly during the Boulevard Flea Market, located in the shuttered K-Mart along East Silver Springs Boulevard, before that project was cancelled.
