Local firefighters sprang into action when a vehicle caught on fire in southeast Ocala on Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units (Engine 2, Rescue 2, Engine 7, Tower 1, and Battalion Chief 22), along with two additional Marion County Fire Rescue units, responded to SE 31st Street in Ocala in reference to a reported vehicle fire.
When units arrived, the vehicle fire was quickly spreading to a nearby field. Fire crews attacked the flames, and the fire was extinguished before it could reach the residence in the area.
No injuries were reported.
