77-year-old motorcyclist killed in accident in Pasco County

A 77-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident Tuesday morning in Pasco County.

Kara Perrini, 35, of Brooksville was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty westbound on Chancey Road approaching Yonkers Boulevard, while a 2016 Nissan NV2500 driven by Samuel Dail, 54, of Dade City and a 2013 Chrysler Sedan driven by 73-year-old Lloyd Larson of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin were traveling ahead of Perrini’s Jeep, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. At the same time, 77-year-old Donald L. Ross of Zephyrhills, 63-year-old William Sly of Hanna, Indiana and 74-year-old Patsy Ross of Westville, Indiana were all riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycles eastbound on Chancey Road. Although Dail and Larson slowed down for westbound traffic, Perrini failed to stop and collided with Dail’s vehicle which then hit Larson’s vehicle. Perrini’s vehicle continued into the eastbound lane and into the path of the three motorcyclists. Ross and Sly collided with the left side of Perrini’s vehicle, while the motorcycle Ross was riding departed the roadway to avoid a collision and impacted a fence.

Ross died at the scene of the accident. Sly was transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, while Ross was treated for minor injuries at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. Charges are pending.
