LSSC offering security officer license course at Leesburg campus

The Continuing Education program offered through Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) will offer a Security Officer “D” License course at the Leesburg Campus in November.

The program is a 40-hour training class that will teach students the basic principles of security, including physical security, access control, terrorism awareness and emergency procedures. Skill development includes report writing, interviewing techniques, and crime and accident prevention.

This course is designed and approved by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and meets the requirements of Florida law.

Continuing Education courses are non-credit courses offered to support or enhance business, industry, government and general recreation in the communities of Lake and Sumter Counties. The class runs from Nov. 12-16 – Monday through Friday – from 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. It will be held at the Leesburg’s campus’ Liberal Arts Building, Room 3. The registration deadline is Nov. 5 and there is a $200 fee.
