Firefighters cut off truck’s doors to free driver and passenger after crash

Ocala Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle collision with entrapment Wednesday morning at the intersection of SW College Road and SW 35th Terrace.

Crews were dispatched to the collision at 11:53 a.m. Tower 1, Engine 4, and Rescue 3 arrived to find a lime green Jeep with front end damage and a white pick-up truck with two occupants in need of extrication.

Firefighters cut off the doors of this truck to free the driver and a passenger Wednesday morning in Ocala.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to expose and cut through the hinges of the pickup truck’s front doors. Firefighters then removed both doors, gaining access to the vehicle’s occupants. The passenger and the driver of the pickup truck were removed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
The Ocala Police Department also responded.

The driver of this Jeep escaped injury in the collision.
