Crews from Marion County Fire Rescue and Ocala Fire Rescue battled a blaze that destroyed a mobile home early Friday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to the fire in the 3000 block of SE 41st Avenue at 6:16 a.m. after multiple 911 callers reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. None of the callers were aware if anyone was inside the home.
Marion County Fire Rescue’s on-duty division chief was first to arrive on scene at 6:21 a.m. and after an inspection, he reported the home to be 50-60 percent involved in flames. Ocala Fire Rescue #2 arrived a short time later and fire conditions inside the residence prevented a complete search, a report says.

A Marion County Fire Rescue district captain arrived and assumed command, with units from Rolling Greens Station #28, Shores Station #17 and Shady Station #16 also battling the blaze.
Both power and gas utilities were shut off to the home. The fire was called under control at 6:27 a.m. The cause and origin of the blaze is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and no injuries were reported.
