Local businesses came together recently to make a huge difference for Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection.

The organizers of Unbroken Ocala 2020 presented a check for $6,000 to Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection.

Zone Health & Fitness, CrossFit Iron Legion and CrossFit Zoo teamed up to create the Unbroken Ocala 2020 challenge, a fitness competition that featured four athletic zones – running, strongman, CrossFit and gym fitness. Each of the zones featured several workouts/stations that had to be completed.

Participants were able to purchase tickets in advance for the number of stations they wanted to participate in during the event. Several prizes were awarded for various accomplishments.

All told, the Jan. 11 competition raised $6,000 for the nonprofit that strives to protect, serve and advocate for abused and neglected children. The money was planned for a playground at the facility, located at 2800 NE 14th Street in Ocala.
