Citra woman nabbed after video shows attack on steak-grilling guy pal

Liane Patrica David

A Citra woman was jailed Sunday after a nasty battle with her man friend while he was grilling steaks on the back porch of his residence.

The man said 60-year-old Liane Patricia David came to the back door and started a verbal altercation. He claimed she poked him in the nose and he “inadvertently” hit her in the face while attempting to get her hand away from him, a sheriff’s office report states.

The man said David then started battering him in the face. He said she grabbed him by the shirt and struck him in the face twice as a witness took video of the incident and attempted to break up the argument, the report says.

A witness told deputies she came over after she heard the verbal altercation break out. She said David “was battering the victim in the face along with grabbing his shirt,” the report says.

David told deputies the man “struck her on the face without warning” while he was grilling on the back porch. She denied striking him first but said a person whose name was redacted from the report had to break them apart.

The man showed deputies the video of the incident that was taken by a witness. They noted that David was grabbing the man’s shirt and striking him in the face twice.

David initially refused to come to the door of the residence or take phone calls from deputies, but she eventually was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with simple domestic battery.

David who lives on NE 155th Street in Citra, was released Monday morning on her own recognizance. She is due in court May 19 at 9 a.m.
