City of Ocala Aquatic Fun Centers preparing to reopen for Summer

The City of Ocala’s Aquatic Fun Centers will reopen to the public for the summer at the end of the month.

The Jervey Gantt Aquatic Fun Center, 2390 SW 36th Ave., will have a limited opening to the public Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23. Two swim sessions will be available each day, a morning session 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and an afternoon session 2 to 5 p.m. Beginning Saturday, May 29 the facility will be open seven days a week.

The Hampton Aquatic Fun Center, 255 NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., season opening is Saturday, May 29.

Both facilities will be open seven days a week. Mondays through Saturdays there will be two swim sessions per day, a morning session 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and an afternoon session 2 to 5 p.m. Sundays, there will be only one session, 1 to 5 p.m. Admission per session for a single individual is $2 for children ages 17 and under and $3 for adults ages 18 and up.

The Aquatic Fun Centers offer several aquatic programs, including learn to swim lessons, adult lap swim during select hours, Aquability for individuals with disabilities and Junior Lifeguards for teenagers interested in serving as lifeguards. Due to the COVID-19 safety measures, the following restrictions and guidelines are in effect for operations at both facilities:

  • Temperature and health screenings at entry;
  • Social distancing is strongly encouraged;
  • Pool capacity will be reduced;
  • Limited table rentals available;
  • Groups/field trips by reservation only; and
  • Daily cleaning will take place.
