To the Editor:
Hurt feelings, tempests in a teapot, and political agendas appear to me to be at play in the takedown of Fire Chief Shane Alexander. In reading his firing letter, not once was Chief Alexander’s competence at doing the job he was hired to do ever mentioned. An assessment process gave him glowing comments, yet, a short time later this same process fired him.
One of my students once announced to our class: “Get your needs met at Home, not at Work.” What did Chief Alexander do that did not comport with saving lives or fighting fires?
