Local middle school students recently surprised the Ocala Police Department with a car wash.

According to an OPD Facebook posting, students from Howard Middle School (1655 NW 10th Street) showed up at OPD’s headquarters on Saturday and washed multiple patrol cars.

OPD was appreciative of the students’ hard work and kind gesture. Detective Ridge thanked them with pizzas.

In November, the generosity of the Ocala Police Department’s officers was on display when they donated Christmas decorations and turned Thanksgiving bonuses into meals for local families.
