David John “Dave” Carter, Sr., age 82, of Ocala, Florida, passed peacefully, at the home that he loved so much, in Ocala on December 29th, 2021.
Dave was born in Miami, FL, to Phyllis and Albert Carter on December 12th, 1939. He attended Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia and graduated in June of 1958. After graduation, Dave entered the business world as an insurance salesman for “Georgia Life Insurance”. Over the years, Dave had many business successes as a serial entrepreneur, eventually leading to the creation of Dave Carter and Associates/Falcon Corporations in 1978, spanning 11 locations throughout the United States servicing the RV & Manufacturing Housing industry. Throughout life, he received multiple awards and recognitions. His most recent accomplishment is being inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame. Dave was a true outdoorsman. His favorite hobbies included water skiing, snow skiing, sailing, flying, duck hunting, handball, boating, golf, and working out. Despite the hobbies that he exceled in, or his business, which he was brilliant at, he always made it very clear that his family was his greatest accomplishment of all.  Dave is survived by his former wife, who he’s known since he was thirteen, Ronnie Carter; daughters Kimber Hoopengarner (Barth), Ocala; Buffy Carter, Ocala; Alexandria Carter, Ocala; son Austin Carter, Emerson, NJ; three sisters and a brother; grandchildren Ashley Cunningham (Shaun), David J. Carter III (Lauren), Stephanie Clifton (Anthony), Hunter Hoopengarner (Nicky), and Tucker Hoopengarner; and three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, David J. Carter Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 28th, 2022, at Vintage Farms 4020 SE 3RD AVE OCALA @ 4PM. Roberts of Ocala will be handling the funeral arrangements and cremation. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and ASPCA.
