A family of five is looking for shelter after their mobile home was damaged in a fire on Thursday.
At around 6:15 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units (Engines 1, 4, and 6, Rescue 4, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer) responded to White Oaks Mobile Home Park in the 3900 block of SW 30th Street due to reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, the units found a shed that was engulfed in flames, and the fire was spreading toward its attached single-wide mobile home.
While crews from Rescue 4 searched the mobile home to ensure that no one was inside, Engines 4 and 6 began to attack the flames. Once the fire was extinguished, Engine 1 verified the interior for fire extension, and Tower 1 started ventilating the mobile home.

According to OFR, the fire claimed the shed and approximately 25% of the mobile home.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is unknown.
The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
Ocala Fire Rescue wants to remind the public of the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. Anyone who is in need of a smoke alarm can request free installation by visiting the Ocala Fire Rescue Smoke Alarms for Escape webpage.
