A 14-year-old boy was killed, and two teenagers were seriously injured, after their pickup truck overturned on County Road 137 in Hamilton County on Tuesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, at around 7:10 a.m., a 2006 Nissan Titan being driven by a 14-year-old boy from Jasper was traveling eastbound on County Road 137 near SE 50th Drive. The vehicle had two passengers: a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, both from Jasper.

When the vehicle approached a curve in the road, the driver failed to navigate it and he lost control of the vehicle. The FHP report indicated that the vehicle traveled off the roadway and onto a grass shoulder where it overturned.

The driver and front-seat passenger were both ejected from the vehicle, and the driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Both passengers sustained serious injuries, and they were transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. They are currently in stable condition.

The names of the driver and passengers were not released, per FHP policy.
