A pedestrian was struck and killed on the Interstate 75 ramp leading to the Welcome Center in Hamilton County on Saturday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, a Class A motorhome was traveling towards the Welcome Center, near mile marker 471, at around 6:50 p.m.
For reasons that are still under investigation by FHP, a 41-year-old man from Jacksonville was walking on the ramp when the motorhome collided with him. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The two occupants of the motorhome, a 66-year-old man (driver) and 67-year-old woman (passenger) from Fort White, did not sustain any injuries.
The names of the individuals involved in the accident were not released, per FHP policy.
