The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Ocala on Saturday.
According to the FHP incident report, a 29-year-old man from Ocala was walking along State Road 40, near SW 57th Avenue. At an unknown time, a vehicle struck the pedestrian in the outside westbound lane of State Road 40.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
FHP investigators are turning to the public for information regarding the driver and/or the vehicle that was involved in this fatal crash. According to FHP, the vehicle is believed to be a dark gray sedan with damages to its front right.
