An upcoming class at the Belleview Community Center will teach the basics of babysitting to local youth between the ages of 11 and 17.
On Friday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., SuperStat Medical Training Solutions will host its Babysitter Bootcamp at the community center, which is located at 5615 SE 110th Place in Belleview.
During the hands-on class, accredited American Heart Association instructors will teach participating youth about babysitting safety, cpr/aed, first aid, interview techniques, phone etiquette, internet and personal safety, and what to do in the event of an emergency.
At the end of the class, each participant will receive a certification of competition.
There is a $90 fee to participate in the five-hour class, and everyone in attendance is encouraged to bring their own lunch.
