FAFO seeks additional volunteers for Ocala Arts Festival

The Ocala Arts Festival will return to downtown Ocala later this month, and the organization running the two-day event is looking for volunteers who would like to help out.

Fine Arts For Ocala (FAFO) will host the 55th installment of the festival on Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23, 2022. During last year’s event, thousands of visitors hit the streets of downtown Ocala.

According to FAFO, volunteers are still needed to fill various roles on both days of the festival, including:

  • Event setup (ages 18 and up): Helps with all aspects of setting up the festival. Volunteers should be prepared to lift, carry, and set up signs, wire standards, student art, banners, chairs, and similar lightweight objects.
  • Helpers (ages 18 and up): Helps with all aspects of setting up the festival. Volunteers should be prepared to lift, carry, and assist in all the different areas that they are needed.
  • Clean-up Crew (ages 18 and up): Helps with cleaning tasks and picking up litter in the downtown area.
  • Artist Breakfast (high school students and older): Helps with serving meals during the Hot Artist Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion. Volunteers will also assist with setting up the area prior to the start of service and cleaning up afterward.
  • Artist Dinner (high school students and older): Helps with serving meals during the Artist Dinner from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. Volunteers will also assist with cleaning up the area afterward.
  • Artist Oasis (ages 18 and up): Helps with keeping snacks and water filled in the MCA Artists Oasis while keeping the area clean throughout the day.

FAFO states that service hours will be offered for any student volunteers who need them.
