Jim Breuer’s standup comedy tour will be making a stop in Ocala this Saturday.
The Reilly Arts Center, which is located at 500 NE 9th Street, will host the popular comedian on Saturday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Breuer gained national attention as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 1998 during a rebuilding year that included Will Ferrell, David Spade, and Norm Macdonald. While on the show, he made audiences laugh with several characters including “Goat Boy,” and hilarious celebrity impersonations that included Joe Pesci.
Comedy Central lists Breuer as one of the “100 Greatest Standups of All Time,” and his 2009 special “Let’s Clear The Air” was one of the network’s highest rated comedy specials. Over the years, Breuer has cleaned up his act (he has been F-word free for over a decade), and his standup material focuses on the fun aspects of family life.
On his website, Breuer states, “My career reached a new level when I started to raise a family of my own and realized I should stick to what I know, what everyone could relate to no matter their socio-economic status.”
In addition to performing at comedy clubs and venues across the country, he has appeared in multiple films, including Half Baked, Zookeeper, Titan A.E., and Beer League, among others. He has also been featured on such shows as Late Night with Conan O’Brien, the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and The Marriage Ref.
The upcoming show at the Reilly Arts Center is nearly sold out. Tickets range from $25 to $75, and a 30% discount is currently being offered on single seats for those who want to attend the show solo. To be eligible for this discount, call the Reilly Arts Center box office at 352-351-1606.
