Brick City Cabaret Company returns this week with ‘Words, Music, Art…A Love Story’

After a several-year hiatus, the vocal ensemble Brick City Cabaret Company will return this week to explore romance through songs from New York’s vibrant cabaret scene and the best of Broadway.

On Friday, February 10 at 8 p.m., Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA) and the Ocala Civic Theatre (OCT) will present “Words, Music, Art…A Love Story” at the Brick City Center for the Arts, which is located at 23 SW Broadway Street in Ocala.

An additional performance will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 8 p.m., and the third and final performance will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 12.

“Words, Music, Art…A Love Story” is a collaborative fundraising event that will benefit Marion Cultural Alliance and the Ocala Civic Theatre, and it is presented in tandem with MCA’s exhibit “A Love Story: Paintings by Ro Martinez.”

According to MCA, the “delightfully PG-13” event featuring Brick City Cabaret Company will utilize words, music, and art to “explore that crazy little thing we call love.”

Assisted by Vocal Director Jessica Mongerio, Brick City Cabaret Company is led and accompanied by Artistic and Music Director Jason Bartosic, OCT’s resident music director. The upcoming concerts will feature performances from Becca Ashley, Sam Duggar, Jessica Mongerio, Adam Pryor, Victoria Sexton, James Taylor III, Scotty Tomas, and Megan Wager.
