The Ocala Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck that claimed the life of a woman on Wednesday afternoon.
According to OPD, a semi-truck and a second vehicle collided at the intersection of N Pine Avenue and NW 20th Street.
OPD officers responded to the scene of the accident. The female driver of the second vehicle was trauma alerted to a local hospital where she passed away from injuries that were sustained in the crash.
In a social media post, OPD stated that traffic on the northbound lanes leading up to the scene is being diverted at NW 10th Street. Motorists may either go east or west at the intersection of N Pine Avenue and NW 10th Street.
Anyone traveling in the area should expect heavy delays.
