HCA Florida Ocala Hospital has officially begun construction on a new $11 million freestanding emergency room in Ocala.
The 11,000 square-foot facility, HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency, will be located at 4361 NW Blichton Road, near Highway 27.
Slated to open this winter, HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency is expected to serve over 10,000 patients a year while employing approximately 45 full-time healthcare professionals with additional staff, according to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency will be a full-service and fully staffed emergency room with ER physicians, nurses, and other clinicians. In addition, it will feature 11 emergency exam rooms, CT scan, general X-ray, and on-site laboratory services, and the facility will be capable of caring for patients of all ages, including pediatrics.

This will be the fifth freestanding emergency room for HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
“With the construction of HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency, we will be able to expand access to healthcare services by providing state-of-the-art emergency care closer to home for the families and visitors in the fast-growing Ocala area,” added Keesee.
