The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department is offering swimming lessons for children and teenagers between the ages of 3 and 17.
The lessons, which begin on Tuesday, May 30 and run through Thursday, August 3, will be held at the Jervey Gantt Aquatic Fun Center (2390 SE 36th Avenue in Ocala) and Hampton Aquatic Fun Center (255 NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Ocala).

Certified American Red Cross instructors will teach participants how to swim during six lessons that will take place over a two-week period. The children and teens will be placed into groups according to their swimming levels.

Participants will learn how to stay safe around water. Additionally, they will learn floating, strokes, and additional aquatic skills that will help them become efficient swimmers.
Morning lessons will be held on Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at both aquatic fun centers. Evening lessons will also be offered from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Jervey Gantt Aquatic Fun Center only.
Registration is required and there is a fee of $55 per person.
