The First Friday Art Walk’s steering committee is now accepting applications for the 2023-24 season, which will take place in downtown Ocala.
The applications are open for participating artists and performers, arts and cultural organizations, participating downtown businesses, and business sponsorships.
Each year, over 30 artists and 15 arts and cultural organizations are showcased at the monthly art walk. Artists are paired with participating downtown businesses along the streets surrounding Ocala’s Historic Downtown Square, and many of these businesses offer extended hours and specials during the event.
Original artwork will be on display during the family-friendly art walk, and the monthly events will also feature live art demonstrations, free activities, and performing artists.
The First Friday Art Walk is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2023, and it will conclude on May 3, 2024. To participate in the entire First Friday Art Walk season, applications must be submitted by no later than 11:59 pm. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
According to the City of Ocala, any submissions received after August 1, 2023 will be reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the First Friday Art Walk season.
