A man died on Tuesday evening after he was struck by a CSX train in Ocala.
Shortly before 8 p.m., the Ocala Police Department responded to the 600 block of NW 2nd Street due to reports of a southbound CSX train striking a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, OPD officers located a man who had sustained fatal injuries at the railroad crossing, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The police department is currently investigating the fatal collision.
The pedestrian’s name was not released by Ocala police.
