Youth sports program at Mary Sue Rich Community Center

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department is hosting a program next month that will help children gain a competitive advantage while participating in youth sports.

The “Skillz and Drillz” program is open to children ages 6 to 8, and it will kick off with a one-hour session at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9 at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center (1821 NW 21st Avenue in Ocala).

Additional sessions of the weekly program will take place at the community center on Wednesdays, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., through August 30.

During the program, children will compete in fun drills that are designed to sharpen their hand, foot, and eye coordination. Registration is currently open and there is a $20 fee per child.

For more information, call 352-401-6980. To register a child for the “Skillz and Drillz” program, visit the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department website.
