A crash involving a Marion County Fire Rescue ambulance sent one person to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
According to MCFR, an ambulance from Marion Oaks Station #24 was responding to a medical call in Marion County involving a stroke when it collided with a pickup truck.
The ambulance was not transporting a patient at the time of the crash.
MCFR stated that the driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck was trapped inside the vehicle following the collision.
After being extricated from the wreckage by MCFR crews, the driver was transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert.
The MCFR personnel involved in the accident were evaluated on scene, and they refused medical treatment.
