Ocala’s Adult Basketball League tips off in January, registration still open

The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department’s basketball league for adults is returning next month, and there is still time for players and established teams to sign up.

The league’s upcoming season will tip off on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place located at 1821 NW 21st Avenue in Ocala.

The basketball league, which is open to men (ages 18 and up), offers a 10-game season with full-court, 5-on-5 play. In addition, the games will include referees, stat tracking, and a scorekeeper in attendance.

According to the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department, the teams will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays starting on January 22, 2024. After completing the regular season, all teams will qualify for a single elimination playoff at the end.

Prizes will be awarded to the top teams.

Registration will remain open through Thursday, January 18, 2024. Teams will consist of 10 players, and there is a cost of $400 per team to participate.
