The Discovery Center, in partnership with the Florida Engineering Society and Ocala Electric Utility, will host an Engineering Day event on Saturday, March 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
On the day of the event, participating children (ages 5 to 15) will plan, build, test, and compete in specialized challenges alongside professionals in the engineering field. A free lunch will also be provided to all attendees.
There is no cost to attend the event, though registration is required for each participating child. Adults do not need to register.
All children who are 10 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult during the event.
Registration for Engineering Day is now open. The deadline to sign up is at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, though registration may close early if all available spaces are taken.
The Discovery Center is located at 701 Sanchez Avenue in Ocala.
