A 64-year-old man from Ocala died on Monday morning after his pickup truck crashed into a guardrail and building.
At around 8:45 a.m., the man was heading northbound on State Road 35 (SE 58th Avenue), just south of Larch Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.
For reasons that are still under investigation, FHP stated that the man’s pickup truck veered off the roadway to the right and struck a metal guardrail.
After that impact, the vehicle proceeded to travel in a northeastern direction before colliding with a building located in the 8700 block of SE Baseline Road in Belleview.
The driver, who was also the sole occupant of the pickup truck, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The man’s name was not released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
