Richard Paul Pirrwitz

Richard Paul Pirrwitz, of Ocala, Florida, previously of Toledo, Ohio, passed away in Hospice care. Richard was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Paul J. Pirrwitz and Jean E. Beck on July 5, 1947.

He attended Maumee High School in Maumee, Ohio. Richard enlisted in the Untied States Marine Corp in 1972 for two years active service and another six years of reserve service before being discharged in 1980. He became a teamster in 1966 working for Roadway Trucking for 32 years before retiring in 1998.

He moved to Florida shortly after, where he became very active in the Marine Corp League Marion Detachment #061. There he became Detachment Commandant twice, Detachment Marine of the Year, Detachment Florida Pack Devil Dog of the Year (2013), and District 5 Vice Commandant.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, who brought a deeper love and happiness to his life. Also surviving are his brother John Pirrwitz of Oregon, Ohio, his sisters, Mary (Ed) Burgess, of Toledo, Ohio, Diane Pirrwitz of Mt Zion, Illinois, his daughter, Suzanne (Steve) Pirrwitz/Carracio of Metamora, Ohio, his sons, Joel (Angela) Pirrwitz of Temperance, Michigan, Kevin (Dayna) Pirrwitz of Delta, Ohio, Scott Pirrwitz of Sandusky, Ohio, David (Brianna) Pirrwitz of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
