2-vehicle accident causes slowdown on I-75

A two-vehicle accident caused delays this morning on a stretch of Interstate 75 in Ocala.

Ocala Fire Rescue reported the accident just before 8 a.m. on the interstate. According to OFR, the accident involved two vehicles in the northbound travel lanes.

The collision took place near mile marker 352 on the roadway, which is next to the exit at W State Road 40/W Silver Springs Boulevard.

According to FL511.com, the crash had traffic backed up for several miles as of 8:15 a.m., back “beyond mile marker 348.”

As of 8:30 a.m., OFR reports that all northbound lanes are now clear and traffic is moving once again.

Video shows that the vehicle has since been moved from the middle lanes to the right shoulder of the roadway.

According to OFR, one person was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
