I-75 northbound onramp at County Road 484

An on-ramp at a major interchange in south Ocala will close on Tuesday and Wednesday night as construction crews continue making improvements in the area.

The Florida Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the northbound onramp from County Road 484 to Interstate 75 will be closed Tuesday, August 27, and Wednesday, August 28 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The closure is one of several in effect across Ocala roadways this week, including one on nearby CR 475A, just north of the roadway’s intersection with CR 484.

Northbound motorists wishing to access CR 484 must exit State Road 44 and turn west, travel one mile, turn right on County Road 475, travel about 10 miles to CR 484, turn left, and travel about 2 miles to reach the I-75 interchange.

According to FDOT, Project 433651-1 calls for improvements to safety and traffic flow along CR 484, from SW 20th Avenue to CR 475A.

Those improvements include the addition of turn lanes and turn lane extensions, as well as the reconstruction of westbound through lanes and widening of CR 484.

The project costs $11.6 million and is estimated to be complete in Spring 2025.
