If The Villages can support a Costco, so can Ocala

To the Editor:

The city of Ocala needs its own Costco. The closest one is over 60 miles away. The closest BJ’s is almost 40 minutes away. As a result, our Sam’s Club is ridiculously busy, day and night. They are our only big box store.

With all of the 55+ developments going up and new larger home developments, they are surely needed. The Villages can support a store. They don’t want or need Ocala residents. Marion County needs its own store.

Why should we have to bring a cooler packed with ice in order to be able to purchase frozen and fresh foods so they don’t spoil before we get home? There is plenty of open land.

At least Buc-ee’s thinks we deserve one of their largest gas stations. Coming next year. Maybe you want to open near them.
