Volunteers are needed for an upcoming cleanup day at Ocala’s Tuscawilla Park scheduled for later this month.
International cleanup day will take place on Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ocala’s Tuscawilla Park (800 NE Sanchez Ave).
The International Coastal Cleanup engages people to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways. Since its beginning, more than 17 million volunteers have collected more than 350 million pounds of trash on behalf of the organization.
Ocala is the most central location on the map of Florida. Volunteers will help pick up items around Tuscawilla Park, including the Art Park and playground, to collect trash while volunteers all over the world are also cleaning their communities.
People should register ahead of time with the organization and number in their group to secure a hat. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves, pickers, buckets, and clipboards, although limited items will be available.
To register, download the CleanSwell App and to help track trash collected.
