The Florida Highway Patrol Station in Ocala is seeking information on one of the vehicles that fatally struck a motorcyclist on U.S. Hwy 41 before fleeing the scene in the aftermath.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of U.S. 41 and SE 45th Street in Morriston on Sunday, January 12 at around 7:10 p.m.

According to a report from FHP, a 37-year-old man from Elkton, Maryland, was driving his motorcycle northbound on U.S. Hwy 41 when a sedan being driven southbound by a 51-year-old Morriston man turned into his path.

The front of the motorcycle collided with the right rear of the sedan, causing the motorcyclist to be knocked from the vehicle.

After he was knocked to the ground, the motorcyclist was struck by a sport utility vehicle, a van, and another unknown car that fled the scene.

The report notes that no other drivers involved in the accident sustained injuries.

The vehicle that fled the scene is described as a white passenger car with damages to its front and possibly front left.
