A longtime band that brings together local musicians born in different generations will perform a free concert at the Marion Technical Institute this weekend.
The Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band will celebrate its 35th Anniversary with special two days of concerts starting on Saturday February 22 at 2 p.m. and continuing on Sunday, February 23, at 3 p.m. at the Marion Technical Institute, which is located at 1614 E Fort King Street, Ocala.
The event is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Doors will open an hour prior to each concert with pre-concert music featuring Uniqulele, a 5-piece, one-of-a-kind instrumental ensemble.
The program will include music under the direction of J. Craig Lilly. The free concerts will honor the musical past, present and future.
