Jose Manuel Herrera, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 86.

Jose was born on August 20, 1939, in Uracoa, Monagas State, Venezuela, to his loving parents, José Encarnación Herrera Marcano and Ávila Margarita Fermín de Herrera. Throughout his life, he carried a deep love for his family, his heritage, and the values of kindness, strength, and devotion.

He was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent more than 31 years serving faithfully in his career. Over the years, he worked with Luria’s, Sears, Kmart, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, where he proudly retired in 2013.

Jose was the cherished husband of Bonnie Herrera, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love, commitment, treasured memories, and wonderful travels around the world.

He was also a beloved brother to Luis Alberto Herrera Fermín, Eliezer José Herrera Fermín, Francisco Tomás Herrera Fermín, Iraida Josefina Herrera Fermín, Nilka Antonia Herrera Fermín, Addis Argelia Herrera Fermín, and Iranidis Juana Herrera Fermín.

Jose leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts, including his children: John David Herrera, Vanessa Herrera, Nancy Herrera, Darling Harvey, Angel Hidalgo, Rhonda Kincaid, David Kincaid, and David George. He also leaves behind dear friends Kyle, Teresa, and Tony, whose friendship meant so much to him.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Emma Herrera, Emily Herrera, Elvira Herrera, Kellee Mullins, James Mullins, Jaxxon Mullins, and Taylor George. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Jose Manuel Herrera will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply. One of the greatest joys and proudest blessings of his life was his son, John, whom he cherished beyond words.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, love, and memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
