Della Mae (McCall) Green was born on June 16, 1935, in Calhoun, Alabama, to the late George McCall, Sr. and Ever McCall. She was a woman of faith, love, and devotion whose life was a blessing to all who knew her.

Della received her formal education through the Lowndes County Public School System in Calhoun, Alabama. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Letohatchee, Alabama. After relocating to Florida, she united with New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida, where she faithfully served as a Church Mother.

Della was united in holy matrimony to Leslie Green in Orlando, Florida. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.

Della was employed by Marion Laundry as a shirt presser for sixteen years. She also worked alongside her husband as co-owner and operator of Green’s World Barbecue in Orlando, Florida, for fifteen years.

In her leisure time, Della enjoyed shopping, working puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and warm smile will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

On June 6, 2026, after a life marked by faith, service, perseverance, and love, Della answered the Master’s call and entered into eternal rest. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the faith she faithfully demonstrated throughout her life’s journey.

Della was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leslie Green; her parents, George McCall, Sr. and Ever McCall; and her siblings, George, Jr., Rogers, William, Frank, Henry, Roosevelt, Will, Jonah, and Ada.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted daughter, Cornelia “Diane” Jenkins (Charlie, deceased); her sisters, Everlena McCall-Harris (Earnest, deceased) and Inez McCall-Harrison (Willie, Sr.); her sisters-in-law, Susie Mae McCall and Doris McCall; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and dear friends who will dearly miss her.
