Matthew 25 and 23 “Well done good and faithful servant”.

A loving Mother, Daughter, Sister and friend. You are gone too soon.

Nevadnie (Nikki) Alma Surgeont’s life began in Nassau, Bahamas as the first born daughter of Roston Dames and Veronica Wood. She was a rambunctious tomboy who once dislocated her shoulder while playing on the swings– a wound that would never fully heal. It served as a reminder of her physical strength and resilience.

She attended Titusville High School, where she was a member of the flag team and ROTC. Nikki went on to one of the oldest HBCU’s in the country, the illustrious Edward Waters College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minored in Gerontology. It was there that she crossed the burning sands and became a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Wearing her pearls with love and pride.

During her 25-year career as a case manager and social worker. Nikki touched the lives of countless children and families. She loved her work and dedicated herself to help others.

We are deeply saddened by the untimely loss. Nikki is survived by her mother and stepfather Veronica and George Griffin, her beautiful children Alexandria Veronica Surgeont and Octavius Surgeont Jr. and her beloved granddaughter Skylar Thues.

She is also survived by her siblings Trevor Wood, Quincy Dames, Nikeva Jones, and Quinten Dames, whom she loved and adored. Nikki is further survived by her father and stepmother in the Bahamas Roston and Patricia Dames and her half siblings Okinawa, O’Kel and O’Neill Dames, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins extended family members and dear friends.

Nikki’s warmth and kindness touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her. Though her time with us was far too short she will be deeply missed, never forgotten and forever cherished in our hearts.
