Roberto “Pitbull” Ramos, 69, of Manhattan, New York, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Ocala, Florida.

Born on July 26, 1956, at City Hospital in New York City, Roberto was the son of Jacobo Ramos and Manuela Diaz. In 1975, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he received training as a Field Wireman. Following his military service, Roberto worked as a lineman for several years.

Roberto enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and spending time with his family. He was known for his strength, loyalty, and love for those closest to him.

During his military service, Roberto earned numerous honors and decorations, including the Rifle M16 Sharpshooter Qualification Badge, Hand Grenade Expert Qualification Badge, Dragon Gunner Qualification Badge, Air Assault Badge, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

Roberto is survived by his beloved wife, Virgenmina Calderon of New York; his stepsons, Ramon Roly, Jeffrey, and Lesty; his step-grandchildren, Anthony, Sofia, Jeffers, Jedrick, Said, and Yamil; his sister, Margarita; his nieces, Donishka and Nectar Rosa; his nephews, Eduardo Jr., Josue, Rene, and Steven; his brothers from another mother, Angel Martinez and Jesus Ramos; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered condolences, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

Military honors and the interment of cremated remains will take place at Morovis National Cemetery on June 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

Roberto will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
