The identity of a Beverly Hills woman who won a life-changing lottery prize just south of the Marion County border earlier this year has officially been revealed.
Cynthia S. Price purchased a winning ticket for the $2,500 A Week For Life scratch-off game at the 7-Eleven located at 3045 Norvell Bryant Highway in Lecanto. The gas station is situated just a few miles south of the border between Citrus and Marion County.
Price purchased the ticket on March 18, but her name was temporarily withheld from the public. Under Florida Statute 24.1051, winners of Florida Lottery prizes valued at $250,000 or more are exempt from public disclosure for 90 days from the date the prize is claimed.
According to records maintained by the Florida Lottery, Price elected to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum cash payment. That cash prize option equates to approximately $1,949,000.
The overall odds of winning the top prize in the $2,500 A Week For Life game are 1 in 7,760,595. According to lottery officials, the winning ticket purchased by Price is the third top prize claimed in the game over the past nine months.
