Carmen Elaine Davis, 74, was always at home with her lord Jesus Christ, even before
her death on Monday, June 15, 2026.
She died after a short illness in an Ocala, Florida, hospital.
Carmen was born on June 21, 1951, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to William and Pansy
Baumgartner. She was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by her mother and
stepfather, Ray Faust, a battalion commander with the city of Pittsburgh Fire
Department.
After graduating from Carrick High School, she moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, where
she earned a B.S. degree from Lee University. She worked as a graphics designer for
the World Missions Department of the International Church of God in Cleveland.
Carmen is survived by her husband, David; sisters Teresa Faust and Gretchen Poland;
very special aunt Pauline Neil; and her many nieces and nephews, whom she
cherished.
Her many friends all described Carmen as someone everyone loved. She made people
feel loved and made those who knew her laugh often. Her smile was infectious. Her
giggle was so sweet.
Her longtime pastor, Rev. Mitchell Baker, said, “Many times she quoted from the
blessing we used at church, which she said no one had ever told her, ‘God is not mad at
you.’ No, he is not, Carmen. In fact, he is showing you how much he loves you. We
thank you for delivering your servant, Carmen, from all evil and setting her free from
every bond so that she may rest with all your saints in the eternal habitations, where
with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.”
