Oscar Benito Fernandez, 87, born in Pangasinan, Philippines and most recently living in Ocala, FL passed away on July 9, 2026 at E.W. & Lucille Cate’s House (hospice) in the presence of his wife, daughter and son.
Oscar was born to Manuel and Teresa Fernandez on Jan 21, 1939. He went earned a degree in Business Administration from University of the Philippines. He worked tirelessly for decades in financial services in New York City reaching the title of Senior Managing Director at Smith Barney.
He enjoyed tennis, exercise, gardening, investing, eating and mostly spending time with family. He was an active member of the Catholic Church often volunteering in various roles from finances to ushering to vacuuming.
Oscar is survived by his wife Maria Luisa Fernandez, his siblings Belen Naanep, Tessie Rodriguez, Manolet Fernandez, his children Maryann Fernandez, Noel & Rebecca Fernandez, his grandchildren Mack, Cal and Lola Fernandez. He is preceded in death by his siblings Renato Fernandez, Pacita Yaptenco and Leo Fernandez.
