Ocala man killed after pickup truck crashes into tree, catches fire

A 41-year-old man from Ocala was killed on Wednesday morning after his pickup truck crashed through a fence, struck a tree, and caught on fire.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the man was traveling southbound on SE 134th Place in Marion County when his vehicle veered off the roadway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

The truck traveled onto the west grass shoulder, struck a wooden fence, and continued heading in a southwestern direction until the front end of the vehicle collided with a large tree.

Upon impact with the tree, the truck caught on fire with the driver trapped inside.

Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the crash, and the driver was pronounced deceased.

The name of the driver was not released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
