McDonald’s in Marion County forced to shut down after eight flies discovered in food preparation area

A McDonald’s restaurant was forced to temporarily shut down last week after eight flies were discovered in the food preparation area.

McDonald’s on Williams Street in Dunnellon was shut down on Feb. 15 after an inspector found three high-priority violations at the restaurant, according to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Stop Sale issued due to food not being in a wholesome, sound condition,” the inspector’s report said.

In addition, a toxic substance was being stored over a food preparation, the report noted.

The restaurant was shut down at 3:36 p.m. Feb. 15 but was allowed to reopen at 8:40 p.m. that same day.
