Francis Ortiz, 93, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Hospice located in the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Hamilton, Hamilton New Jersey.
Francis was born on December 30, 1924 in New York City and was married to Jane Betances for 49 years until she passed away in 1994. They had 2 children, Gladys and Frank. Francis lived in Manhattan and the Bronx New York, Vineland NJ and was a long-time resident of Marion Oaks in Ocala Florida.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and Charles Teasenfitz of Chesterfield NJ; five grandchildren, Charles Teasenfitz II, Leah Ogden, Denise Cerrachio, Lindsey DiGeorge, Frank Ortiz Jr.; and has 8 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Frank Ortiz Sr.
Francis worked many years and retired from Wilmot Glass Company in Millville NJ, a maker of precision scientific glassware. He had a passion for photography and loved taking pictures and developing the film in a darkroom in his home.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Roberts Funeral Homes, 2739 SE Maricamp Rd, Ocala Florida 34471.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the chapel of the ‘Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens Cemetery’, 5050 S.W. 20th Street, Ocala, Florida 34474.
