A wounded lady bandit fled an internet cafe after an attempted robbery early Monday morning in Lady Lake.
The suspect at 2:40 a.m. entered the Flip Flops internet café at 13741 N. U.S. Hwy. 441 and demanded money while pointing a semi-automatic handgun at both clerks, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She was given an undisclosed amount of cash.
During the robbery, the suspect is believed to have been shot by an armed security guard who fired two rounds from his firearm. The suspect then dropped the cash and was able to flee into the parking lot where a getaway car was waiting.
The suspect is described as a black female, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches with a heavy build of about 240 to 250 pounds.
