A group of softball all-stars from Marion County recently capped off a record-setting run with a state championship.
The Ocala Shockers 14U All-Star softball team captured both the 2026 Babe Ruth District 3 Championship and the Babe Ruth State Championship during a run that kicked off at the District 3 tournament in Palatka, held from June 4 to June 6.
The 14U district title game came down to showdown between two standout Marion County programs in Shocker Park and Wrigley, with the former ultimately securing the victory and punching their ticket to the Babe Ruth State Tournament in Lake City, which ran from June 25 to June 29.
This year’s state competition drew a record-breaking 105 teams across all age divisions. Facing off against the premier programs from across Florida, the Ocala Shockers demonstrated incredible teamwork, resilience, and determination to capture the state title in their division.

The double-championship sweep marks the first time in the 15-year history of the program that the Ocala Shockers 14U All-Star team has secured a Babe Ruth State Championship.
The championship roster for the 2026 Ocala Shockers 14U All-Stars features players Kiera Clay, Samantha Coelho, Alinah Dominguez, Teagan Fish, Kinley Johnson, Madisyn McCazzio, Scarlett Ousley, Peighton Royce, Avery Sams, Stefany Shrader, Gracie Spade-Thorpe, and Harper Stockman.
