Three men, a woman and a juvenile were arrested earlier this week after a months-long investigation into drug activity at two houses in Silver Springs.
Members of the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team simultaneously executed two search warrants Wednesday in a case that was generated by a tip from a citizens and backed up by undercover officers making drug purchases at the homes, a report states.
The homes involved are at 3600 NE 59th Ave. and 3680 NE 59th Ter. The search warrants were carried out with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Ocala Police Department SWAT team.
In addition to the five arrests, members of the strike team seized one Glock 43 9mm semi-automatic pistol, one Smith & Wesson 38-caliber revolver, 1.5 grams of heroin, four grams of crack cocaine, 155.5 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $2,485 in cash, the report says.
The four adults taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail are:
• Terrance Lamar Walker, 33 charged with sale of heroin (four counts), possession of heroin (five counts), possession of crack cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Carlos Juan Torres, 24, charged with sale of marijuana (six counts), possession of marijuana (six counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia (seven counts).
• Lorna Vay Ankney, 21, charged with being principal to the sale of marijuana (two counts) and unlawful use of a two-way communication device (two counts).
• Troy Lee Ankney, 54, charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams.
In addition, the 17-year-old juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Walker and Torres are being held without bond and are scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. Lorna Ankney is being held on $9,500 bond and also is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. And Troy Ankney is being held on $500 bond and is scheduled for a court hearing July 18 at 1 p.m.
